Executive
Vice President
Reading Overstreet, Jr.,
a native of Phoenix, Arizona, moved to Dallas, Texas
in 1980 taking advantage of Dallas’ central location in the United States,
two great airports, no state income tax and an environment
which “gets things done”.
He graduated from the University of Arizona with
a Bachelor of Science degree in liberal arts. Shortly
after arriving in Dallas, he pursued a master’s
degree in business in the EMBA program offered at Southern
Methodist University.
Reading’s interest in Business began
after graduation when he became a banker with United
Bank of Arizona. After three years in the
banking business, he went to work for Ramada Inns,
based in Phoenix, where he developed franchise hotels
throughout the United States. Several years passed
and he was pursued by a local Phoenix Real Estate firm
to head up its Brokerage and Development activity. While
there, a national Real Estate Syndicator, Consolidated
Capital Equities Corporation asked him to join
their firm, and move to Dallas selling commercial properties
for their public limited partnerships throughout the
United States. While very successful in his efforts,
a local Dallas Real Estate Investor/Developer attracted
him to form a new company, CoEquity Corporation which
developed and bought apartments, condominiums and various
land parcels in Texas.
In 1996, Reading was approached to again use his creativity,
marketing and sales skills in developing business on
a local and national basis in the Title Insurance Industry.
As Executive Vice President with Capital Title,
he utilized his talents, experience and knowledge,
in developing an entirely new company, developing its “branding” and
marketing, building a sales staff and opened 15 new
offices in as many months.
During his
career in Real Estate, Reading Overstreet has bought,
sold, developed, managed, financed or insured the
title to well in excess of a billion dollars worth
commercial and residential property.
When not at work helping his clients attend to their
various needs, he loves his family and friends, is very
active playing both tennis and golf, enjoys attending
various sporting and cultural events and is quite active
in his church.
